CP Federal Credit Union Selection Process
ApplicationWe request that everyone complete an online application that reflects the three most recent jobs you have held in order to be considered for one of our posted positions. You may be tempted to enter "see resume" rather than complete all of the fields. The reason we ask you to enter all of your information is to prevent you from having to enter that information later if we invite you to interview. If we extend a job offer to you, the application is the document we use to perform your background check. So, you've submitted your application for CPFCU job posting. You may be wondering what happens next. Read on to find out! Initial ScreeningEvery application is important to us, because the person it represents may be the perfect person for the job and our organization. We take the time to review every application in full. Because of the number of applications we receive for each position, we are not able to contact every applicant. Applicants who appear to meet the minimum requirements for the job will be contacted. Depending on the number of applicants and the number of open positions at CPFCU, this process can take two weeks or longer.
Phone InterviewIf you are selected to participate in the next step of the selection process, your first interview will typically be a phone interview with a member of Human Resources. This initial contact gives us an opportunity to learn more about you, while giving you a chance to learn more about the role and CPFCU. After this interaction, we will determine if we believe that you and the opening at CPFCU might be a good fit. If so, you will move on to the next stage or our selection process.
Skills AssessmentIf you are selected to participate in the next portion of our selection process, your may be asked to take an assessment that tells us more about your attributes and skills.
InterviewFinally, if you are selected to continue on to the next step you will take part in an interview. Your first interview will typically be an in-person meeting with a hiring manager. This meeting gives us an opportunity to learn more about you, while giving you a chance to learn more about our organization and the role.
The hiring manager will review the applications and interview notes of all the candidates interviewed, and then decide which individuals will take the next step in the process. If you are not selected to move on, we will let you know.
Background and Reference ChecksWe do conduct reference and background checks, including criminal, driving and credit record checks.
If you have any questions about the reference checking process, please contact Human Resources at (517) 784-7101 Ext. 4150.
OfferOnce the interviews and reference checks are completed, the hiring manager will decide which candidate he/she would like to invite to join CPFCU.
If you are selected, you will be contacted and we will extend the offer to you verbally and then forward the formal offer to you via postal mail.
The offer is contingent upon the following: - You are able to provide acceptable proof of your eligibility to work in the United States within three days of your hire; and
- Your background check is satisfactory; and, for most of our positions
- Your credit check is satisfactory.
- Your driving record is acceptable.
We know how nerve-wracking it can be waiting for news about a job. If you are not selected for the position, we will be sure to let you know.
Credit and Background CheckMost of our positions require a credit check. Less-than-perfect credit does not automatically bar you from employment with CPFCU. However, if you had or currently have credit issues, you should be prepared to discuss what led to the issues and what you have done or are doing to make restitution to the creditor(s). In addition, we require documentation from the creditor(s) of your repayment agreement(s).
New Employee Orientation (NEO)If you pass the contingencies and accept our offer of employment, you will be welcomed onto the CPFCU team with New Employee Orientation. Depending on your role, NEO lasts from three to five days and will acquaint you with our industry, our history and basic functions of your job. You will then be placed within your area for further mentoring and job shadowing.
CPFCU is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We welcome diversity in our organization and are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws. |
